How CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Takes Applications
CareFirst's request is the CAQH (DataSpring) profile plus a CareFirst questionnaire matched to your provider type. Check the profile's authorization settings before starting; a provider who reviews payer requests one by one must first call 410-872-3500 or 877-269-9593 to be added to CareFirst's CAQH roster.
What to Watch With CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield
CareFirst's directory is not fed by CAQH: practice information has to be updated with CareFirst directly at least every 90 days. Dental applications go through a separate dental credentialing track.
Whatever the plan, the file moves only when your CAQH (DataSpring) profile, license record and application agree. See how long credentialing takes and our CAQH profile setup service.
