How UnitedHealthcare Takes Applications
UnitedHealthcare runs the whole request inside its own portal: sign in, open Onboard Pro, and submit the participation request with the DataSpring (CAQH) ID. Credentialing and contracting run side by side, which is why the agreement can arrive within a week while verification is still under way.
What to Watch With UnitedHealthcare
Plan for the loading lag: UHC allows up to 60 days after approval and the countersigned contract before the provider is fully loaded for claims. Behavioral health clinicians do not use Onboard Pro at all; they apply to Optum Behavioral Health through Provider Express. Clinicians already contracted with Optum who want a medical contract are routed to UHC chat.
